Dutch government indirectly supports Hezbollah Terrorists

The Dutch government has donated 30 trucks to the government of Lebanon.  The Israeli government says that the Hezbollah terrorist group has gained control of the Lebanese army.  Recently, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said that the Lebanese army has become an integral part of Hezbollah’s command structure. He added that it has lost its independence and has become an inseparable part of the Hezbollah apparatus.

Ombudsman: Right to demonstrate is under pressure in Netherlands

The national ombudsman Reinier van Zutphen said that being able to demonstrate is a fundamental right in the Netherlands.  Yet that right is under pressure.  He said in a report: “the government is inclined to risk-avoiding behavior.  Public order often wins resulting in restricted or even cancelled demonstrations.”

Almost 800 People Die During Participation in Medical Trials

782 people died while participating in medical trials in 2016.  Another 5000 experienced life threatening wounds, hospitalization, or became handicapped.  The Central Commission for Human Research (CCMO) said that 265,000 people participate in these trials yearly. They claim that the deaths and incidents are not related to the medical trials.

Shortage of Health Care Givers will increase to 100 000 by 2022

Over the next four years, staff shortages in healthcare will increase to around 100 thousand people, according to the benefits agency UWV. Qualified staff is becoming very difficult to find. The population is aging and almost a quarter of caregivers are 55-years-old or older. The UWV recommends increased recognition of health care workers and retraining unemployed people and migrants for health care tasks.

Rotterdam: Left Parties collaborate with Muslim anti-Israel Party

In Rotterdam the three left wing parties, the left socialist SP, Green Left and the PvdA Labour Party have agreed to collaborate with the anti-Israel Muslim party NIDA after the coming municipal elections on March 21. When this became known media mentioned a tweet from 2014 in which Nida compared Israel to ISIS. When asked, Nida confirmed that it still supports the tweet. A few days ago representatives of Nida and the Labor party attended a meeting of the Union of European Turkish Democrats, which is the Dutch branch of the Turkish AK party of president Erdogan. Also a candidate of the left liberal D66 was present.

Intelligence Services: Salafism has to be watched from a security perspective

The AIVD National Intelligence Services draws in its annual report attention to Salafism because of the worry about its ideas to legitimize intolerance, anti-democratic activities and polarization. The AIVD writes that promoters of Salafism put aside their differences to promote together aims in the name of Islam.  These goals include the monopolization of Islamic education and spiritual care.  Opposition is not tolerated. Often their attitudes are intimidating and claim the loyalty of Muslims to Islam.

Amsterdam mayor: Salafism is not a current in Islam

Jozias van Aartsen, the acting mayor of Amsterdam has said in the municipal council that Salafism isn’t a current in Islam.  He wondered what the use of attacking it was. Municipal council member Diederik Boomsma retorted: “he seems to suffer from the same religious cramps which in recent years has caused the increasing problems at the municipality’s department against radicalization.”
