Parliament Angry about Prosecution’s Loss of Suspects’ File

Parliament has written to Minister of Justice Ernst Hirsch Ballin (Christian Democrat) that the law must be changed so that suspects can no longer be released because their original file was lost. This is what happened to the two main suspects of a robbery in 2006 in which seven people at a discotheque were threatened with firearms, physically abused and left bound on the floor. The Amsterdam court decided to release them even though digital and other copies of the file were available.www.parool.nl/parool/nl/7/Misdaad/article/detail/39646/2008/10/29/Blunder-Jimmy-Woo-zaak-wekt-woede-Kamer.dhtml
