Dutch War Documentation Institute Criticized Cabinet

The Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies (NIOD) is disappointed because the government is unwilling to investigate the use of violence by the Dutch during the decolonization of Indonesia. Spokesman David Barnouw of the NIOD said, “One has to wait for a new government.” More and more data are coming to light about Dutch violence including a recently broadcast interview with Captain Westerling, who admitted multiple war crimes.
