More than a Quarter of Dutch Policemen is not Operational

More than a quarter of Dutch police and detectives are not operational. This results from research by RTL News. Eleven percent of policemen are sick at home. This is almost three times as high as for the general employed population. The police has no explanation for this. Seventeen percent of the policemens’ time is devoted to training and education. D66 Parliamentarian Magda Berndsen, a former police chief is shocked by this high figure of sick leave and intends to pose questions to the minister of security and justice.
