Dutch Intelligence Services Broke Law

Both Dutch intelligence and security services AIVD, the general one and MIVD the military one, have broken the law. A number of these irregularities were already mentioned in 2011. This is the conclusion of an investigation of the CTIVD, at the request of Parliament. The CTIVD is an independent commission which supervises the two intelligence services. MIVD collected data in collaboration with foreign intelligence services without asking permission from the minister. The AIVD used agents to collect information which came down to wiretapping without asking for permission of the minister. Chairman Harm Brouwer of CTIVD considers the irregularities very serious. However, the AIVD and MIVD do not collect data systematically illegally. http://www.telegraaf.nl/binnenland/22374194/__AIVD___MIVD_onrechtmatigheden__.html
